more fun in the sun

Well we ended up going back to lagoon with Matt's sister Amanda and Colton a couple weekends ago. Liv and Colton were super cute together riding rides! Then Olivia had her first dentist appointment and totally rocked it! Matt and I both LOVE going to the dentist so it was really important to us that her first experience was a good one (especially because going to her doctor is always sooo traumatic) well she ended up loving it just like mom and dad and has asked me several times since if we can go back. We've also had a few bbq's with friends and family and we also celebrated Liv's second 4th of July! We went to the West Jordan parade with our families and then we all went out to breakfast. Liv loved the fireworks again this year, she kept naming off all the colors and yelling "wow, boom boom!". Then we spent the day up at echo lake with matt's dad and his brothers and sisters. It was so fun, we got to take Liv out on the boat this year and she had so much fun playing with all of her cousins for the day. Other then that we've just been spending a lot of time outside swimming, playing, and working on the yard :)

catching up

Well I've taken another un-intentional break from my blog... ooops! We've been super busy enjoying this lovely warm weather. We have our zoo pass and our pass of all passes so we've been having lots of fun with those! Liv is getting so so big it is freaking me out! I cannot believe she's almost two! We got her a new big girl bed a few months ago and she loves it and does so well in it. Matt also finished up his job at ARUP in April after two plus years up there and is now working up in Orem on another job which he really likes, I think the change is nice for him. Matt and I also just celebrated our third wedding anniversary on June 11th! We went to dinner at the melting pot to celebrate and it was oh so yummy! I can't believe we've been married for three years already, it has gone by so fast and we've loved every minute of this adventure together! Then the day after our anniversary dinner, Liv took her first nasty spill down the stairs and ended up dislocating a bone in her arm. It popped right out of her elbow and the doctor had to literally hold her down and pop it back in. It was the most difficult thing I've had to experience in my almost two years of motherhood. But she has been much better ever since and we were told it will heal up just fine! We also celebrated my second Mother's day and Matt's second Father's day. For Mother's day we took it easy and had dinner with our families and planted flowers in the yard. For Father's day we decided to spend the day at Lagoon with my parents and had so much fun! It was so dead and really nice to not have to deal with all the crowds. Liv loved every minute of it and has been waking up every morning since asking to go ride rides so I'm thinking a return trip is in our very near future. Other then that we've just been spending time with our friends and families and getting ready to celebrate Liv's second birthday. Now for some pictures :)

Hoppy Easter

We had a pretty fun Easter this year. On Saturday we went to an Easter egg hunt at Matt's grandparent's house. It was a lot of fun, and Liv's first experience hunting for eggs :) We had a nummy lunch and got to spend time with the whole fam which was really nice. We also got to get Liv and her buddy Gavin together to exchange their baskets a play a bit. Then we went over to my parent's house to dye some eggs. Then we woke up bright and early on Sunday and gave Liv her Easter goodies. We got her a new umbrella stroller, new outfits, shoes, a swimsuit, a few toys, and some treats. Then we got ready and headed to the zoo with my mom, sisters, aunt, and cousins. We had a lot of fun, we hadn't been since last summer and Liv was so much more into the animals this year! We decided to buy a pass so we'll be spending a lot of time there. Then we headed home so little miss could nap and then went to see Matt's mom for a bit. After that, we went to my parent's house for dinner. It was great spending time with our families to celebrate.

all that I can

"Why worry? If you've done the very best you can, worrying wont make it any better." -Walt Disney

I ran across this quote on pinterest today and it really did it for me. I haven't blogged or done much of anything for a minute now. I don't really know why. I wish I could say its because I've been so busy doing super cool things but truth is I've been in a funk. I've been busy wasting my time constantly worrying about things that I really shouldn't. Things like struggling to have another baby, wanting Matt to do good in his home stretch of school, wanting my husband's family to like us- well me, wanting Olivia to have a wicked awesome life, things like that. But honestly the more I worry about things, the further into my funk I fall and all that I want accomplished isn't. I think my biggest fault is I'm the type of person that needs something to look forward to. For the last few years I've always had that, I had my wedding, then getting pregnant with Liv, then all of her firsts and big milestones, then moving into our new home, and now I just feel sort of stuck on auto pilot. And when I don't have something to look forward to, I nit pick all the little things around me that really shouldn't be such a big deal. But I'm realizing I really just need to stop and smell the roses because I would rather have easy going with not much going on then a bunch of curve balls and unexpected mishaps. I need to realize how lucky I am to have such a great husband, an adorable little girl, my amazing family, and our super cool friends. So instead of worrying about things out of my control, I need to remeber I have simply done all that I can and that worrying just isnt going to make things better. I'm currently on medication to help us get pregnant so that's all I can do right now, Matt has his final test for school tonight and he has been studying like a mad man so I'm sure he will do great, I (we) have put forth all the effort in wanting to have a decent relationship with Matt's family but the problem isn't lack of trying on our part its on theirs, and I can't make them want to be better so I've done all that I can with them, and as far as Olivia having a wicked awesome life, well she's one of the funniest, cutest, happiest kids I know so I assume we're doing a pretty good job at that :) Speaking of Olivia, she will be 20 months old this month! She is getting so big it just blows me away. She talks so much and knows how to communicate to us what she wants, she understands everything we say to her, loves to make us laugh and be silly, and loves to dance! I found a little mommy and me dance class I'm thinking about starting her in because she seriously is obsessed with dancing. She also is doing really good with this potty business. She goes at least once a day, most days like 2 or 3 times, and when she goes in her diaper she almost always tells us before she does. I'm so in love with her she makes me the happiest mom ever. If I do happen to only be blessed with one child in my life, I could not have dreamed of a better one :) I feel much better now, I really need to make more of an effort with this blogging thing. Here's some pics of what we've been up to lately
