Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 was a success! Christmas eve was spent at my Aunt Wendy's house with our big family. Everyone was very excited for our little baby bump. Christmas morning we had our little Kemp family Christmas festivities, then went over to Mom and Dad's for more Christmas fun. Then we went over to Grandma's for some delicious breakfast and even more Christmas fun. Then home for a much needed nap followed by some fantastic dinner at Mom and Dad's. It was absolutely perfect :) I cannot wait to have our little one next year. In other news, we won first place in our complex patio decoration contest! Wahoo! Go C208!! Today I made a delicious home made lasagna and oh em gee... it was sooo good. I am so beyond happy that I can cook without running to the restroom every 10 minutes again. I really really need another day or two before going back to reality.

today I ate a pickle

I hate pickles. Always have. Today, I ate one. If there were more, I would have enjoyed them too. This pregnancy is rather entertaining. At 10 weeks I am VERY happy to say my morning, noon, and night sickness is 97% contained. I haven't felt nauseous in 5 days and I have my appetite back and then some. Its so much fun to feel pregnancy. I read what to expect when you're expecting back when I was trying to become expectant. Reading about the food cravings, adversions, bloating, fatigue, and frequent bathroom runs are so neat now that I'm actually going through the motions. As of today I am 1/4 through my pregnancy and I am loving every minute of it. Now the countdown begins to find out the gender. I'm not sure why, but I really think I'm having a boy. I keep having these dreams about a baby boy and I just picture going to find out the sex and hearing "boy". Matt on the other hand, thinks girl. I always said I wanted all girls because I grew up in a house full of girls and I always thought I would only relate to girls. But now that I know I'm having a child , I would love a little boy. A little mini Matt sounds perfect :)

This is my FAVORITE baby picture of Matt. It just melts my heart. I feel so blessed for this precious miracle. This is the best Christmas present I could ever ask for ;) PS we took some silly pictures for our Christmas card this year, they go a little something like this

Good stuff. Next year we'll have a new family member in our Christmas pictures. Yay! Merry Christmas everyone.

oh baby!

So we have some big news to share with everyone.... WE'RE EXPECTING!!! Wahoo!! We are so so SO excited!! A few weeks ago I had a Dr. Appt just for a check up now that I'm on my husband's insurance and also to discuss the possibility of starting a family in the future. Since we got married the idea of having a baby has been something we have toyed with non stop. We kept going back and forth and eventually we decided that we were just going to let nature take its course. We like to say we weren't trying but we weren't not trying. I've always had some abnormal periods (sorry if that's TMI) when I'm not on birth control so the old waiting to see I'm late method wasn't an option. I've been taking monthly pregnancy tests just to make sure and they've all been negative. So I went to my Dr. and she wanted to get me started on some medication to help with my hormone levels so that we could look into seriously starting a family. She said before she can write the prescriptions they had to give me a pregnancy test just to make sure I wasn't already pregnant. So I did my business in the plastic cup and went back in my room. I could see the nurse putting the stick in the cup and turning to my Dr. and shaking her head yes. Then I saw her do another one and again, shake her head yes. At that point chills went down my back and I knew what the yes meant. My Dr. then came back in the room and told my the news! I immediately grabbed my stomach and then I cried (tears of pure joy). Then I called my sister and she literally screamed into the phone. They ran a blood test to confirm and it was POSITIVE! I even went on to take an additional 4 yes that is right 4 tests just to make sure. Matt was ecstatic when I told him, he was trying hard to hold back the tears and just kept mumbling under his breath "I'm gonna be a Dad" with this big grin on his face. We had our first ultra sound today and we are a mere 6 1/2 weeks along and just could not hold it in! We are due on July 16th and we are so happy!

4 home tests, 2 doctor's tests, and 1 blood test later :)

The happy parents to be. We can't wait to meet our new family member!

raise your glass

I know now that I'm married I'm not supposed to celebrate my monthly dating anniversary's anymore. So I'm not, but I am gonna blog about it. 3 years. Today. No big. This Saturday will be 6 years since our very first date. Nothing says celebrating like moving the same day 6 years later. If you would have told me 6 years ago when I was 15 that I would marry the first high school boyfriend I ever had I would say "chheya right". I remember the early days of Matt and I.... going to the movies, chilling at Kmart when matt was supposed to be working, and who can forget... the Sadie Hawkins dance
sorry about the poor pic quality... it was 6 years ago peeps ancient times. We were babies, and we were awesome. I remember trashing Matt's room asking him to this dance. His dad got sooooo mad at me. (big surprise) When my parents found out I was dating a boy 3 years older then me they went to Matt's work at the big K and stalked him. Literally. I remember being so mad at them for being so embarrassing. Matt thought it was awesome. te he he. I'm so grateful my family is so respectable to Matt and I and so supportive of our lives. We are, after all one big family now. I love my husband so so much. 3 years have flown by. I'm so happy to call him mine.
I love you so much baby.

here goes nothing

Well we finally decided to give this blog thing a go. By we, I mean me, Melissa. I'm pretty positive i will be the only one posting on this thing. For starters Matt and I are getting married in June! We are so excited! We are having an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding and its going to be awesome! I'm so excited to start our life together. We don't really have much going on in our lives besides all this wedding stuff so that will be the topic of most posts. I can't believe how fast our engagement has flew by! I wish it all would slow down for just a minute... but that's not gonna happen so I guess we need to live 100% in the moment and enjoy it while its all happening.A lil' motivation! We are having so much fun with this theme! We both LOVE Alice in Wonderland and this is working out so well!
