oh baby!

So we have some big news to share with everyone.... WE'RE EXPECTING!!! Wahoo!! We are so so SO excited!! A few weeks ago I had a Dr. Appt just for a check up now that I'm on my husband's insurance and also to discuss the possibility of starting a family in the future. Since we got married the idea of having a baby has been something we have toyed with non stop. We kept going back and forth and eventually we decided that we were just going to let nature take its course. We like to say we weren't trying but we weren't not trying. I've always had some abnormal periods (sorry if that's TMI) when I'm not on birth control so the old waiting to see I'm late method wasn't an option. I've been taking monthly pregnancy tests just to make sure and they've all been negative. So I went to my Dr. and she wanted to get me started on some medication to help with my hormone levels so that we could look into seriously starting a family. She said before she can write the prescriptions they had to give me a pregnancy test just to make sure I wasn't already pregnant. So I did my business in the plastic cup and went back in my room. I could see the nurse putting the stick in the cup and turning to my Dr. and shaking her head yes. Then I saw her do another one and again, shake her head yes. At that point chills went down my back and I knew what the yes meant. My Dr. then came back in the room and told my the news! I immediately grabbed my stomach and then I cried (tears of pure joy). Then I called my sister and she literally screamed into the phone. They ran a blood test to confirm and it was POSITIVE! I even went on to take an additional 4 yes that is right 4 tests just to make sure. Matt was ecstatic when I told him, he was trying hard to hold back the tears and just kept mumbling under his breath "I'm gonna be a Dad" with this big grin on his face. We had our first ultra sound today and we are a mere 6 1/2 weeks along and just could not hold it in! We are due on July 16th and we are so happy!

4 home tests, 2 doctor's tests, and 1 blood test later :)

The happy parents to be. We can't wait to meet our new family member!
