18 months

Our sweet Olivia is 18 months old today! Where has the time gone?? I cannot believe in six short months we will have a two year old! While I am a little sad she's no longer my little baby, I must say I absolutely LOVE this age! She is so full of life and personality. Olivia loves to be be silly and make people laugh. She's so friendly and has to say "hi" to EVERY person she sees. She had her 18 month appointment today and did really great! At 18 months she:

  • is 32.9 inches tall- 80%
  • weighs 27 pounds-85%
  • head is 18.8 inches-75%
  • wears size 2T clothes
  • wears size 5 diapers and pull-ups so she can pull them down easier to go potty. She had gone in her potty 4 times now and tries to go several times a day :)
  • Loves her food and drinking her milk out of a straw. Her favorite foods are raviolis with meatballs, strawberries, corn, and beans
  • sleeps from about 10 at night until 9:30 in the morning with a 2 hour nap in the afternoon
  • still has 12 teeth and loves to brush them
  • loves going up and down the stairs
  • is starting to learn some sign language. I was not really sure I wanted to teach her sign language because I didn't want her to rely on that as her primary communication method but I've taught her a few basics signs and she seems to like it and stills says them too
  • mimicks everything we say and do and loves telling us stories
  • loves pretend play, like talking on the phone, cooking in her kitchen, and taking care of her baby dolls
  • is obsessed with the show The Fresh Beat Band... not sure how I feel about it
  • is such a daddy's girl
  • hates having her picture taken

new year new stuff

2012 has come and gone just like that, and what a fun year it was! We had so much fun watching our little girl grow up and learn all sorts of new things. We had a lot of fun spending time together as a family and we had lots of neat adventures together. Some of the fun things we did in 2012:

  • Olivia learned to walk!
  • We celebrated her first Easter, Fourth of July, and Birthday!
  • Liv had her first go at swimming lessons
  • We had our first trip to Lagoon, the Aquarium, and seven peaks as a family
  • We had a few trips to the Zoo, the park, the pool, Wheeler Farm, and the Splash Pad
  • Matt started his final year of school
  • Matt and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary
  • We moved into our super cute townhouse
  • We celebrated Liv's second Halloween and she dressed up as a witch
  • We reconnected with Matt's family and celebrated Thanksgiving together
  • We celebrated Liv's second Christmas and she got spoiled rotten

2012 was a really great year for us, and were excited to see what 2013 has in store for us. Matt is back into the full swing of school and is working his hot little bum off! We're very excited for him to be done and graduated. I also started working part time and it has been a bit of an adjustment but I think it is a good thing for me. This is the first time in my life I have had a job because I wanted to not because I have to and I must say it makes a world of difference. Olivia will be 18 months old this month and is so cute and busy as could be. She's getting so big, she got a potty for Christmas and has gone in it 3 times now! She's really getting into the idea of going potty and we're hoping this trend continues. Other then that we've jut been trying really hard to enjoy this never ending snow. I'm already getting some serious Spring fever, hopefully Jack Frost packs his bags very soon.
