Birthdays and Witches

Yesterday my amazing husband turned 26! We kept things pretty low key this year, we went to dinner last weekend with some friends and family to celebrate. Matt got some sweet new work boots and some tools. Then I made him some fun cupcakes and a yummy dinner on his actual Birthday. I love this man more then words can ever express. He is the most selfless, hard working, caring husband and dad I could ever dream of. He takes such good care of our little family and I appreciate him so much. He is such a great dad, after a long day of work and school he comes home and gives me and Olivia 100% of his energy and attention with no complaints, ever. I love you so much Matthew Gene and hope you had a great Birthday. In other news, this year I decided to make Olivia's Halloween costume to avoid having her outgrow it last minute and having to buy a new one like last year. So we decided she's going to be a little witch this year! I made her and her cousin Kylee matching tutu's so they can be witches together. We took Liv to Gardner Village again to take some pictures in her costume again it was so fun.

This is a picture we took of Liv last year during Halloween and one from this year. I can't believe how much she has changed in one year! Love this little girl!

15 months

We had Olivia's 15 month appointment today. Her appointment went good, in my opinion. She's finally starting to slim down and is officially on the growth curve for girls her age again. When they put her up on the scale and I saw she had lost 4 pounds since her last appt, I was pretty surprised but not extremely concerned, lets be honest the kid is not exactly malnourished. But then her Doctor informs us that she should not be losing weight at this age but instead just not gaining it as fast. So now we have to put her back on whole milk and make sure she's drinking at least 32 oz a day of it. She also had to get shots and for some reason these ones were so tough for me! I bawled more then I ever have it was very sad. She is such a sweet little girl and is getting so big so fast. At 15 months Olivia:
  • is 31.7 inches long -80%
  • weighs 25.4 pounds- 90%
  • head is 19 inches- 90%
  • wears 18-24 month size clothes
  • in size 5 diapers
  • has been completely off bottles for a little over a month now. Now if we could just get her off the binkie...
  • is a pretty good little eater! Eats almost every kind of meat and fruit but is a bit picky with some raw vegetables. Her favorite foods are chicken, corn, raspberries, blueberries, yogurt, raviolis with meatballs, and black beans with rice.
  • tells us when she wants to eat. Usually she walks to her highchair and says "food" or tries to drag it over to us.
  • Sleeps from about 9:30 at night to 8:30 in the morning with an hour nap in the afternoon. She is also really good about to going down by herself for bed or naps. We ask her if she wants to go to sleep and she gets her blanket and binkie and says "night-night' and walks into her room and stands at her crib.
  • loves to dance!
  • points to everything and tries to say what it is
  • repeats just about everything we say! Picks up new words everyday. Some of the new words lately are: purple, candy, hat, snuggle, box, binkie, potty, I don't know, oh yeah, trick-treat (trying to say Trick or treat), boo, pumpkin, more, thank you, please, puppy, and go lay down (she says that to my parent's dogs)
  • loves to point to pictures and say "mama" or "dada".
  • Has 12 teeth! She cut her first 4 molars in a 3 day period. We didn't even know she was teething, she wasn't acting grumpy at all just really tired. She took a 3 hour nap one day and woke up with 3 cut molars!
  • Loves to brush her teeth
  • Likes to help clean up
  • Gives high fives
  • Blows kisses

    moving on up

Biggest slacker ever = Melissa. I feel like so much has happened lately and I just need it all to slow down. First and foremost we are getting ready for the big move(s). I didn't want to make it online official until we actually sign our new lease BUT I'm literally bursting at the seams and just want to shout for joy. We found the cutest town house in Murray and we are moving in hopefully the beginning of November! We originally found a town house in West Jordan we were pretty set on. We got approved and planned on moving in the end of this month. Well there ended up being some issue with the bank that owned the mortgage and the owner was pretty sketchy about the details and it just did not feel right. So we politely told them thanks but no thanks, and had to start from square one again. After some searching we found this one in Murray and we just loved everything about it. It has a basement which the one in West Jordan did not and the area is awesome! It is right by my parent's house which we are beyond ecstatic about. The owner is such a cute, sweet lady and we are just tickled pink that they picked us :) Our lease in our apartment is up on the 31st. Since we're not about to try to move out on a weekday, we're going to move out the weekend before into my parent's house. The people who live in the town house now are also moving out by the 31st so hopefully we will be able to move in that weekend or shortly after. As silly as it may sound I'm sort of excited to be living with my parents for a minute. I know Olivia will have the time of her life. We're supposed to sign our lease this weekend and I guess that means I need to start packing....UGH! I hate packing. I hate moving. I really hope that this will be our last move(s) for several years. While we are very happy to be done with the whole apartment living scene, I am getting a little emotional about all of it. We have so many memories in this apartment complex. This is our first place that was all ours as a married couple, this is where we found out we were expecting, this is where we brought our sweet princess to from the hospital. All of Olivia's first's are here, all of Olivia's memories are here. We've made some great memories here and even some friends. But we are excited to make even more memories in our new home. Other than that we have just been enjoying fall together. We went to the state fair the beginning of September, and we went to the aquarium with the Bodines and Christophersons. We also had another get together with Matt's sis Amanda and Liv and Colton got to play together again. Matt also started his new school schedule and we are getting adjusted to it. He has school Monday and Wednesday nights so he goes to work from 6 to 2, gets home about 2:30, then leaves for school at 4 and gets home at about 10. Olivia has finally accustomed herself to a decent bedtime usually at 9:30 and I try to keep her up on Matt's school nights so he can see her before she goes to bed but most nights, it doesn't happen. I really am so proud of Matt for working so hard for us. He seriously is the greatest, sweetest husband ever! Olivia is growing like a weed, she has her 15 month appointment on Tuesday which is also Matt's birthday so I WILL post about her stats and such next week. Here's some pics of what we've been up to lately.
